You are automatically enrolled in short term disability (STD) insurance. New York Life Group Benefit Solutions (NYL GBS) administers the plan.
How It Works
If you are unable to work because of an illness or injury, STD insurance will provide some income protection. Any benefits you receive are subject to federal and state income taxes. Stimson pays the full cost of your coverage.
Eligibility
You are eligible if you are an active, full-time hourly or salaried employee who regularly works at least 30 hours per week. Coverage begins on the first of the month following your date of hire.
At-A-Glance
Here’s a quick look at the STD plan. For details, review the Short Term Disability Plan Policy for salaried employees or the Short Term Disability Policy for hourly employees.
